Busy Busy V

After Violet finishes her school work she spends a few hours at her desk drawing, cutting, and creating. Most things are pictures for Daddy and I. Sometimes she writes compliments for us. ;)

Belly Flop

A birthday party at the pool resulted in several firsts for our Super Vi. The giant blow-up structure floating on the water is something new that the Punkettes have done here in Washington. (This is my first iPhone published blog post, so we'll see how this works).

Tulip Explosion

Quite possibly Aliah's all-time favorite field trip was to the annual Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, about an hour North of us.  During the month of April, this festival draws nearly a million people.  Lucky for us we homeschoolers can avoid the weekend crowd.  These were taken from the Roozengaarde display, but you could also drive around the valley and see breathtaking acres covered with a solid blanket of tulips.

We had some cute boys join us:
The daffodils were finishing up as the tulips came on strong.
Aliah took hundreds of pictures of her favorite varieties, here are a few:

So thankful to live in beautiful SEATTLE!

Blast Off!

(A few months ago:)

Three, Two, One. . . Blast Off!

Aliah assembled and launched her rocket with a little help from Daddy (and advice from Grandpa Mike).

Here in Seattle

Here in Seattle we are enjoying our first spring.  After all, that constant drizzle produces some pretty beautiful results.  It's exciting to see the yard pop up with different colors all over for the first time.
Violet planting flowers for our patio.  She loves the smell of the Alyssum.

We got a special scrubbing attachment for our power washer to get the slime off our driveway, patio, and sports court.  As a bonus that it makes a somewhat dangerous powertool safe for the Punkettes to use.
While I was in Kansas, Ricky and the girls built me a fabulous raised bed for my garden.  The girls and I have planted all of the cool season crops.

More Punkette Power helping us repair our defunct french drain next to the driveway.
Picking green hairy things off the trees is a common happening around here.
Hello dozens of baby blueberry buds!

Even Roxy thinks the dreary winter was worth it now that things are perking up around here.
