Seattle House Hunting Bust

The girls got their first taste of something that will soon become a fact of life:  flying on the airlines.  They proved themselves to be savvy travelers.

Microsoft put us up in a ritzy hotel, complete with valets that opened and closed the doors to our vehicle each time we arrived or departed.  We felt like royalty. Except for the fact that our ride was a KIA minivan.

The girls each had their own bed, and Mommy and Daddy enjoyed having our own private room.
We spent the entire week looking at houses.  Only to find nothing.  It was shocking to see what a seller's market it is there.  I guess the coasts are a couple years ahead of the Midwest in trends on pretty much everything.  We tried to put an offer in on this house, only to find out it had another offer pending- a cash offer.  Oh well, wasn't meant to be.  Hello temporary housing!

The redeeming part of our trip was the beautiful sunshine we enjoyed for half of the days we were there.  The Pacific Northwest's beauty is breathtaking.

Punkettes Stole the Camera

Work it, girl
Nice, Annabelle
Kinda of drill-teamish
Tell us how you really feel about leaving your beloved creek behind
That's better
Happy ending

Saying Goodbye

Girls night out with my BFF Heather.  We tried to focus on the good times and to only think of our exciting adventures ahead in Turkey and Seattle instead of the fact that tonight was our last time together.

Be blessed Heather, because you have certainly blessed me!

Easter Success, Easter Fail

Success:  We spent the day together celebrating our Savior's resurrection.

Fail:  My friend gave me these super cute tiny guinea eggs for the girls to decorate for Easter.  They were adorable, but I FAILED to take a picture before they were all eaten.
Success:  I took a load of pictures of Violet with her extra-curly hair while she collected eggs.

Fail:  I didn't get any good pictures of the big girls hunting eggs or of the three of them decked out in their matching Easter dresses.

Success:  Violet had loads of fun sorting and eating candy all day.
Fail:  It's 9:30 at night and she is still singing "Jesus Loves the Little Children" for the hundredth time, followed by a shout, "One more time!" when she is supposed to be sleeping.

Happy Easter everyone, hope your day was as blessed as mine!

Putt, Putt, Lurch

Annabelle was thrilled when she got the opportunity to drive the John Deer for the first time.  Fortunately, her excitement wasn't squelched by the tractor's half-hearted response to a light-weight driver.
Putt, putt, putt about 5 feet, then lurch, engine dying.  Then putt, putt, a few more feet.
Her whopping 45 pounds wasn't enough to keep the weighted safety seat feature activated.
 Daddy to the rescue!
Now we're rolling!

Behind the Scenes

My BFF Heather behind the scenes at part of our photo shoot- leaning into prickly rose bushes, among other awkward places.

Work it girl!  I am so thankful for your friendship and the added bonus of the incredible pictures you have captured of my children growing up over the past 6 years.
